I'll concede that point, seeing as I presented it as a false dichotomy. Good catch. Hopefully, this doesn't undermine the entirety of the piece. Much as the phrase "Promise me you won't get angry..." pretty much ensures that the person on the other end will break that promise, artists going rogue is guaranteed to piss off a certain amount of the crowd, no matter what level of purity is driving the unpopular expression. But still, they should definitely do it. And do it more often.
